Electronic, Optical and Magnetic Materials

Electronic materials are the type of materials which are typically used as core elements in a variety of device applications. These materials are used in example, memories, displays, LEDs and could be easily seen in daily electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets, GPS devices, LED bulbs, TVs and monitors.
optical materials are used for a large number of applications, including transparent glasses and ceramics with specific transmission, reflection, and absorption properties for shielding applications; impurity-doped dielectric crystals, ceramics, and glasses.
Magnetic materials are of 3 types paramagnetic, diamagnetic and ferromagnetic. The materials which are not strongly attracted to a magnet are known as paramagnetic material . The materials which are repelled by a magnet such as zinc. Mercury, lead, sulphur, copper, silver, bismuth, wood etc., are known as diamagnetic materials. The materials which are strongly attracted by a magnetic field or magnet is known as ferromagnetic material e.g. iron, steel , nickel, cobalt etc.
